HI Zeke, Nice to hear from you! I hope all is well .
As far as going south for golf , I was in South Carolina a couple of times and each time was awesome! I enjoyed the courses and the people I went with.
The place I found was based in Santee SC. and here is best part it was very , very reasonable in price.
The courses were in Santee area and in the Charleston area. I really recommend the Charleston area courses. I found them a little more challenging than the Santee area courses ,and a lot more picturesque . My top 5 were ; Pine Forest Crowfield Santee National Legend Oaks Wyboo (for the southern atmosphere)
As far as accommodations, I would recommend staying at the Villas on the Santee National GC. They have four bedrooms and have everything you need.
Here is the website : http://www.golfsantee.com/ . Check it out and I know you won't be disappointed.
If you are going , have a pile of fun and enjoy it.
And by the way the ladies who work there are very helpful and easy to talk to.
Hope that helps!
Doug

Hahaha!! Good One!!
Actually all of the guys were great...Even Owen! (all he talked about was his NY Giants ,of course!)
As far as the drive it was long....about 13 hours with stops for food of course.(guys in St Thomas,London and Strathroy) We met in Strathroy early on Sat morning (6am ) and arrived there as it got dark(8pm?). Checked into the villa one day early ($33 per person) and started golf on Sun morning.(9am)
The next Sat morning we golfed 18 holes and finished about 1-2 in the afternoon and drove home.(got back around 3am-4am.depending on were you lived)
Overall with 2 vehicle-4 per vehicle and each taking turns to drive , it really wasn't too bad.
All I can say is that I am looking forward to going there again!! And hopefully soon!
Doug
